Christy Smith, Esq., ACC
Certified ADHD & Executive Function Coach

Christy is the owner and founder of ADHD Solutions, a former lawyer, and proud mom of triplet sons with ADHD who have recently graduated from college and are launching into graduate school and careers.

“Like many moms and dads who have sons or daughters with ADHD, I spent decades educating myself on ADHD and the best practices and approaches for each stage my sons were going through, with a focus on doing so in the most strengths-based, encouraging manner possible.

"This approach seemed to generally work through high school, with my sons achieving academic and overall success. I assumed they would naturally carry that success into their freshman year of college. However, that transition turned out to be unexpectedly difficult.

"I found myself repeatedly asking ‘Why did I not know how difficult this transition would be? What skills, strategies and knowledge around ADHD could we have been developing, practicing, and implementing prior to college, even if they could be successful in high school without them? Where were the pitfalls in this transition to college? Who could support my sons during college to support their delayed executive functions, so that they could utilize their gifts and talents?"

This difficult transition, as well as what I have learned as a result and the turnaround I saw in my own sons' college success, were the impetus and drive behind creating this business.”

Christy completed a six month, 90 hour ADHD-specific coach training program through JST Coaching & Training, the pioneer in research-based ADHD student coaching. This intensive training deepened her knowledge about the ADHD brain, the impact of delayed development of executive function skills that often accompanies ADHD, and the most effective strategies and solutions to help individuals with ADHD be more informed, prepared and confident in all aspects of their transition to college and life after college.

Through her experience coaching college age and young adult clients, as well as constant education around the latest ADHD research, strategies, and tools, Christy has developed a passion for working with clients with ADHD to reach their goals and feel fully supported and understood while doing so.

As a former business litigation lawyer, Christy’s proactive approach is streamlined, organized and goal-oriented but also strengths-based, positive, encouraging, and engaging.

“This coaching and consulting is exactly what I would have wanted had I known how challenging these critical years could be and how meaningful and effective ADHD coaching could be."
